Staroměstské náměstí (Old Town Square) The most significant square of historical Prague. It originated in the 12th century and since then witnessed many events. Beside the Old Town Hall and the Church of Our Lady before Týn the square has several other dominants, the Baroque St. Nicholas church (K. I. Dienzenhofer, 1732 - 1735), the Rococo Goltz-Kinský palace housing the National Gallery graphic collection, the Stone Bell house - a Gothic city palace from the 14th century - now the Municipal Gallery concert and exhibition rooms, and the Memorial to Master Jan Hus sculptured by Ladislav Šaloun (1915). The very place where 27 Czech gentlemen were executed on 21 June, 1621, is marked in the square pavement and also the Prague meridian can be seen not far from there.

Staroměstské náměstí (Altstädter Ring) Der bedeutendste Platz des historischen Prags. Er entstand im 12. Jh. und wurde zum Zeugen vieler historischer Ereignisse. Neben dem Altstädter Rathaus und der Teynkirche zählen zu den Dominanten auf dem Platz die barocke St.-Nikolaus-Kirche (K. I. Dienzenhofer, 1732 - 1735), das Palais Goltz-Kinský im Rokokostil, wo heute die graphischen Sammlungen der Nationalgalerie untergebracht sind, das Haus Zur steinernen Glocke - ein gotisches städtisches Palais aus dem 14. Jahrhundert, heute Konzert- und Ausstellungsraum der Galerie der Hauptstadt Prag, das Magister-Johann-Hus-Denkmal von Ladislav Šaloun (1915). In der Pflastermosaik des Platzes sind die Hinrichtungsstelle der 27 böhmischen Herren (21. 6. 1621) und der Prager Meridian markiert.
